There’s an opportunity to win one of seven holidays to the Spanish Canary Islands in the Shine Again promotion. It’s easy to enter, you just have to create an account by entering your name, email address, a password, language, year of birth and your country of residence. Judging by the country options, I assume that the competition is only open to residents of the UK, Belgium, France, Spain, Ireland and Norway. Once you’ve entered your details, you’ll receive a confirmation email to activate your account. The competition runs until the end of July 2013 and the winners will be drawn at random.

To increase your chances of winning a holiday in the Canaries, you can earn bonus entry points by tweeting about the competition (3 bonus entry points), or posting on Facebook (5 bonus entry points). At present. it appears that you can do this as often as you wish, as long as there is an interval of at least one hour between your social media actions. You must tweet or post when you are logged into the Shine Again site to ensure tracking to allow the bonus points to be awarded.
Each of the seven prizes features a holiday on a different island. However, the holidays in Gran Canaria and Tenerife are for four people, while the other prizes are a holiday for two. The holidays include direct flights from the airport closest to your home, transfers or a hire car, half board and some activities. You have to select the holiday which you’d like to win when you complete the entry form.
The accommodation for the Gran Canaria holiday is at the Lopesan Baobab Resort in Maspalomas. We stayed at this African themed resort a couple of years ago. The grounds have eight different swimming pools and feature lots of animal sculptures.

It’s hard to decide which holiday to select when you enter the competition. As I’ve already been to the four main Canary islands; Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, I’d choose one of the three other islands; La Gomera, La Palma or El Hierro.
