As I was walking over the Royal Tweed Bridge this morning. I spotted the first cygnet (young swan) of the season. The cygnets don’t usually appear in Berwick upon Tweed until they are quite mature and it’s unusual to see one on its own. I hoped that the cygnet would stay in the same location, so that I could get some photos of it on my way back home. The cygnet obliged and even came out of the water to do some preening. I was so glad that I’d finally gotten around to buying a camera with a decent optical zoom, the Samsung ST200F, which enabled me to take the photos of the cygnet, as the digital zoom on my mobile phone is useless.
