The English artist L S Lowry spent many Summer holidays in Berwick upon Tweed. The Lowry Trail of paintings, mounted on easels, is dotted around Berwick, portraying some of the artist’s works. The Spittal Promenade painting depicts one of his characteristic matchstick-style figures.
