Review of Gilt London

I had lunch at Gilt London in August 2012, using a Groupon voucher which was priced at £21 for two courses and a glass of wine for each of two people. The restuarant is located close to Tower Hill Underground station. Groupon had givn me credit to choose and try out some of their deals.

I really liked the fact that the tables were well spaced out. We were in a very comfortable booth. There were some main course exclusions from the standard lunch menu for Groupon voucher users, but there was a reasonable choice.

Gilt LondonKatie started with Asparagus with Parma Ham & Fried Duck Egg.

Gilt LondonI had the Beer Battered Scallops with Mushy Peas. The scallops were very succulent.

Gilt LondonKatie’s main course was Mediterreanean Vegetable & Mozzerella Burger. I thought that the fries being served in the small basket was a nice touch.

Gilt LondonMy Chicken Saltimbocca was excellent; the chicken was very tender.

The service was very good. I got in a muddle with the Groupon vouchers but this was dealt with in a very pleasant manner, versus making me feel like a fool.

Overall, it was a very positive Groupon experience with great food and service in a relaxing environment.
