As I was walking up Exhibition Road towards Hyde Park from my lodgings at Prince’s Gardens in London, what should I spot but the Travel Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Royal Geographic Society. It was all a bit of a rush as I arrived around ten minutes before the closing time of 5pm and had to check that you were allowed to take photos before I started snapping.
It’s free to get into the exhibition; it’s open daily until 2 September 2012 from 9.30am-5pm (Monday to Saturday) and from 10am-4pm (Sunday). There are hot drinks on sale, outdoor seating and toilets at the venue.
I liked the fact that quite a bit of the exhibition was outdoors, especially now that the weather has improved.
The green elephant mother and baby sculptures were cute.
So if you’re in Hyde Park or at the museums in South Kensington over the next couple of weeks, do pop in to see the Travel Photographer of the Year exhibition.
