London Shopping: Lisa Stickley shop in North Clapham
Written by sian
If you’re shopping in London, going out of the normal destinations can pay dividends. Not just because it’s less crowded. But those little shops that you spend a while looking for are really worth it. And interiors and textile shop Lisa Stickley London is one of those. It’s in Clapham North, in a rather lovely area of London. Clapham is usually pretty lively, but this area if off the main bit of the common and the high street, meaning that it’s all nice restaurants and peaceful streets.
And, more importantly, pretty interiors shops!
Lisa Stickley is so popular right now. Her work can be found in the Tate, and you should expect a range to hit Debenhams stores very soon. She’s got a book out, she’s huge in Japan and put simply, she’s in demand. But her shop is still the same, her designs are still pretty and you’ll still find her behind the counter sometimes.
So what kind of stuff will you find? Stripy cushions, ironing board will tips about how to clean diamonds, polka dot mugs with recipes on (which I’m drinking my tea out of right now). There’s a mix of classic and vintage style, but with a modern twist. Everything is pastels, everything is designed to fit into your home. And besides, it’s all really very pretty.
The studio is here too, so if you want to know where all the magic happens, just take a peek over the banister when you go through the door. There’s a small team, working on creating some wonderful pieces. There’s a handbag range too which I’m particularly fond of.
Lisa Stickley’s shop might seem a little out of the way. But if you’re looking for unique interiors, in a charming area, hop on the underground and come London shopping here. You could do a lot worse the popping into Alba for a pizza on the way back to the station. Both are on Landor Road.
