See Normandy with a ‘Normandie Pass’

Written by Thomas Dowson

As far as Europe destinations go, Normandy is one of the most popular tourist regions of France, particularly Lower Normandy. This is perhaps not that surprising when one considers that this area has frequently been the stage for major World events. With this historical heritage, and the region’s gastronomy and cultural heritage, there is much to see and do. But, and this is my Europe travel tip for this week, armed with a Normandie Pass visiting all these wonderful places need not break the bank and take the edge of you enjoying your holiday in Normandy.

See Normandy with a Normandie Pass

The Normandie Pass costs only 1€ when you pay the full price for an entry to one of the partner Museums, and then entitles the holder to decent discounts at over 40 other sites of historical and cultural interest around Lower Normandy. The Pass includes entry to over 26 sites associated with the D-Day beaches, and so anyone wishing to visit as many of these a possible can save up to 50€.

Other partner Normandy attractions include various zoological parks and gardens, cultural and gastronomy museums (such as the Cider Museum in Valognes), and of course the ubiquitous castles – including that built for William the Conqueror (photograph below).

For 2010, the Pass is valid from 01/04/2010 to 31/12/2010 and entitles the holder to a single discounted entry to over 40 partner attractions, sites and museums. To assist with your Europe travel planning, a full list of the partner sites is available on the Normandie Pass website.
