Thanks for this article. We are contemplating a trip to Paris in January. Are the parks and puppet shows open in January? I've also read that there is skating on the first level of the Eiffeltower. Perhaps you'd be good enough to let me know if Paris with Kids in January offers as many lovely choices.

As a B&B owner myself I know you don't get much time off to spend some days with the family, but in December 2009 it was our turn. 1 Day we spent at Disneyland with my 7 year old daughter and if you plan ahead you don't loose time in finding what's interesting for kids and when / where the shows are.
We spent 3 days in Paris itself and here's daughter's top 5

1) Hop on hop off bus to visit the main attractions, with headset on for some history and interesting facts, in language of choice.
2) Climbing the stairs to the Sacré Coeur and get rewarded by the marvellous view.
3) Montmartre with Place du Tertre where you can enjoy all artists and let yourself drawn or 'cut'. I've done that myself when I was about 15 and now the history repeat.
4) The Eiffeltower
5) Visiting the Opera, unfortunately we couldn't book a concert but even little ones are taken by the beauty of the inside. Also the shop of the Opera is worth a visit with lot's of very nice items.

Since we were in Paris in December we all enjoyed the beautiful Christmas decorations.

This is a very useful guide for families. It can be difficult to find things for children in cities, this shows you at a glance the variety of things available in Paris. A good blog

Thank you both for your comments. Parc Asterix is great, and there are lots of big kids enjoying the rides!

How interesting. We have considered taking the children to Paris but thought it was Disneyland or nothing.

Thanks for these great tips. I took my daughter up the Eiffel Tower when she was very little and have been to some museums, but I'd definitely check out some of these other suggestions on my next trip. She'll have to get past me to get first dibs on the rides at Parc Asterix, though - I used to love that comic.
