Barcelona Segway Tour: The best way to see the city?
Written by Karen BryanIn my opinion one of the best ways to see this popular Spanish city is on a Barcelona Segway Tour. It was certainly my favourite activity during the #catexp BlogTrip09 to Catalonia, Spain 17 – 20 December 2009, although I have to admit that I didn’t even know what a segway was before I read our trip itinerary.
I was feeling a bit nervous about riding on this self balancing two wheeled electrically powered mode of transport. However after a near miss with a wall during the initial training, I did get the hang of leaning forward to move forward, leaning back to reverse and standing straight to brake.
After getting used to riding the segway, I was even daring enough to take one hand off the handle bars to record a video with the other hand.
It’s a great way to see Barcelona. Have you ridden a segway, did you enjoy it?

Karen, such a waste I left early and didn’t get to ride the segway! Wouldn’t have ridden it up the hill this time. Glad you liked it!
Nellie – I was thinking how much you’d have enjoyed the segway tour as I was cruising along and what a pity you weren’t there to experience it. I much preferred it to the quad biking, an activity I won’t be repeating.
