I'm living in Edinburgh right now, and darkness descends these days at 16:00. So, I'm sure to get up early and get outside one way or another-- rain or shine. Museums and cathedrals certainly pass the time well, particularly in the UK, where many are free.

I'm all about the cafes when the weather is bad! I was in Vienna during March one year and tried tons of Sacher tortes. :) Museums are also a good rainy day activity.

This year autumn has arrived a bit too early. In Italy (centre-south) usually till the end of October is plain summer, but this year mid-September storms started and never finished!
It was a bit of a shock, but when you get used you'll find plenty of other activities. Great tips on your post!
