Video interview with Hogni, a musician from the Faroe Islands
Written by Karen BryanWhen I was in Iceland earlier this week exploring Reykjavik I spotted a film crew in front of the Parliament building, Being nosy I wandered over to suss out what was happening. Hogni a musician from the Faroe Islands was about to shoot a music video for his song about the bubble bursting on the Icelandic banking industry with some scenes to be shot outside the Icelandic parliament. Hogni kindly agreed to do a video interview with me as the film crew prepared for the shoot. He explained that he was over in Iceland for the Airwaves Festival 2009.
Hogni now has a new fan in me. Here are a couple of his music videos which illustrate his versatility and talent.
Are you a Hogni fan? Have you seen him live?

Yes, Karen. I’ve seen Hogni live. A great talent.
I was at a concert in the Faroe Islands this spring where many Faroese musicians were performing, and I don’t think there is any other place on Earth where you’ll find as many musical talents gather in one tiny little place than in the Faroe Islands. They have a strong singing culture which brings up great talents.
If you’re interested in learning more about Faroese musicians, search on YouTube or MySpace for Teitur, Eivør, Brandur Enni, Boys in a band and the extreme “ORKA”. Seeing ORKA live was quite an experience.
Hjortur – I’dd love to see Hogni live after watching some of his youtube music videos I think his music is fantastic.
Thanks for the tips about other talented Faroese musicians.
