Here is Ashli’s answer to the tiebreaker question. “I would like to spend a week in Tenerife at the Parque de las Americas for several reasons. First of all, my husband and I relocated to Edinburgh from North America about two years ago and we’d really enjoy a change of climate during those summer months. The sunshine would be so refreshing! Also, while I religiously read Europe a la Carte and take many of Karen’s tips on where to go and what to do, we haven’t been to Tenerife or any islands in Europe. The holiday would be a new experience for us. Finally, I’d love to spend a week in Tenerife at Parque de las Americas because we’re putting my husband through a doctoral program at the University of Edinburgh, and I’m self-employed; hence, we haven’t had a proper, relaxing holiday since we’ve lived in Edinburgh. It would likely be delightful to take such a relaxing vacation from our everyday life!”

The Competition

The Europe a la Carte Blog Twitter competition (3) launches today. To win you have to correctly identify the destination in the background photo of my @karenbryan Twitter page. I’ll be giving clues on Twitter during the week to help you work out the background photo location You’ll also need to answer the tiebreaker question.

The destination displayed on the Twitter page background has been written about in the Europe a la Carte Blog. You must leave your answer as a comment on this blog post, also answering the tiebreaker question. The tiebreaker kicks in if either no-one gets the destination correct or if more than one person gives the correct destination. The tiebreaker enables me to choose a winner by judging the most entertaining and/or insightful answer.

The Prize:

A seven day stay in a one bedroom apartment at the Parque de las Américas Apartments on the Spanish Canaries Island of Tenerife, at any time in May or June 2010, subject to availability, for 2 adults and one child up to the age of 12. The apartment is located in Costa Adeje in the south of Tenerife, 100 metres from the beach.

3 Return to this blog post and write a comment with the name of the location in the Twitter background photo and the answer to the question, “Why would you like to spend a week in Tenerife at the Parque de las Americas apartments?”
