Europe a la Carte Twitter Competition (2): Win a $100 Hotels.com voucher

Written by Karen Bryan

Winner 12 October 2009:

The winner of the Europe a la Carte Twitter Competition (2) is Sara of Get Palmd, tweeting as @getpalmd. Sara receives a $100 (US dollar) Hotels.com voucher.

Sara correctly idetified the Twitter background photo location as Rovinj in Croatia.  Below is her tiebreaker answer to the question, “What’s most important to you when selecting a hotel for a leisure stay?”

“I go for price and location, I’m young and don’t mind if it isn’t tip top and luxury, as long as it’s on a decent location (not too far away from the centre of the location, if I’m in a city). Online reviews play a small part, but basically every hotel always have some negative reviews as well (no hotel is 100% perfect), so I don’t look at those too much. If I travel with the dog, then of course pets allowed, and if I am with the car, I want free parking. Needless to say that if breakfast is included, always better ;-)”

I liked Sara’s answer as it illustrates that there is no simple formula to choosing a hotel for a leisure stay, it depends on so many different factors.
