Couldn’t agree more with this article. I am biased as I live in Durham but only for the last 6 months having lived in London, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle and rural Wales – its a gem waiting to be discovered!

This is wonderful! I studied Durham cathedral as an undergrad with the mythical Prof. Malcolm Thurlby and will never forget his enthusiasm for it. He used to put his wife in photos beside church spires “for scale”.

Sounds like a fun place, I would certainly enjoy visiting South Causey for some fishing
