The pensive Robert Burns sits by the waterside
I assume that the sculpture was commissioned to commemorate the recent 250th anniversary of the birth of the national bard, which forms part of the Homecoming Scotland 2009 celebrations.

I knew that Burns had visited The Birks as there is a plaque further up the walk above a rocky ledge, named Burn’s Seat ,where Burns is said to have rested and been inspired to write “The Birks of Aberfeldy“.
The walk is pretty steep at some parts and the wooden steps can be very slippery. However the views over the Falls of Moness are magical.
