But, having read your article, I'll be going next time I'm in that wonderful country. I've been to the Šumik waterfalls on Pohorje which I thought were superb - in a beautiful, unspoilt location deep in the heart of primeval forest. Not too far away from Maribor and easy to get to is Ptuj. Situated also on the banks of the River Drava, it is one of my favourite Slovenian towns. Ptuj has a wonderful medieval centre and is overlooked by a hilltop castle. Thanks for posting. I'll give the casino a miss but drinking a coffee in Maribor, sitting beside the Drava, is now in my travel plans.
