Travelodge UK are offering rooms for only £12 for stays between 21 December 2008 and 25 January 2009 if you book by Sunday 7 December. It’s a great price for a room with a private bathroom and a family room can sleep up to two adults and two children.

There’s pretty good availability of £12 rooms and I was able to book at couple of nights during January at the most recent Travelodge acquisition in Edinburgh, The Learmonth, which is located around half a mile from Princes Street.
