C’mon England – your Border flags are like tatty dish towels

Written by Karen Bryan

England you are going to do have to try harder with your Border flags on the A1. You did take Europe a la Carte advice to jazz up your Border crossing on the southbound A1 and at least erected three border flags to match Scotland’s three flags on the northbound side of the A1.

However one of your flags has now blown off and the remaining two resemble tatty elongated dish towels hanging by a thread. it’s a sorry state of affairs when the mobile cafe in the Border layby is sporting a better looking flag than the official flag posts, even although the cafe flag is a Union Jack (the UK flag) rather than a St George’s Cross (the English flag).

England, I think you should complain under the Trade Descriptions Act as the your flags don’t appear to fit for the purpose, if they are in such a state after a few months, while Scotland’s three flags are still looking good in the same weather conditions after a longer period.
