Ryanair to the rescue of Sterling Airlines passengers

Following today’s collapse of Sterling Airlines, Ryanair is offer Sterling passengers a rescue fare of £100 or 100 euro, including taxes, for travel until 7 November 2008, on any Scandinavian route on Ryanair’s network. Sterling passengers must take their Sterling booking confirmation details to the airport to be eligible for this rescue fare.
So maybe Ryanair aren’t always the bad guys?
If you are a UK resident booking directly with an airline and the transaction cost is at least £100 you should pay by credit card as then the credit card company will refund you if the airlines goes bust.
Well another airline bites the dust and hot on the heels of the Sterling collapse, I read that Lufthansa has taken over BMI. The fallout from the credit crunch is really staring to bite.

Scandinavian Airlines also offer “rescue” tickets - stranded Sterling passengers who need to return to Scandinavia should contact SAS the latest on October 30 and will be given empty seats on SAS flights, they only need to pay the ticket’s taxes and fees.

Anna - sounds like Scandinavian are offering a better deal than Ryanair for stranded passengers.
