Beaujolais Nouveau 2008 will be launched on the 20 November 2008, at one minute after midnight, as is the tradition on the 3rd Thursday of November. This grapes for this year’s production were harvested in September, so the wine is pretty light, not having much time to mature. This years vintage is forecast to be of superior quality but with a low volume of output so you’d better get your skates on if you want to sample it for yourself. You should be able to purchase the wine fairly soon after the release date as “The Beaujolais Race” endeavours to get supplies to all parts of the globe as quickly and quickly as possible by all means of transport including hot air balloon, elephant or Concorde.
