@Anna, that's interesting that you've noticed numerous errors in Guardian travel articles. My beef was that a location which had several possibilities only had one mentioned, like they couldn't be bothered to add more than one activity and link per location. You should pitch ideas to them though,

@Andy, I think that the Europe a la Carte blogging team should have European travel section in the online Guardian.

Actually, whenever I came across pieces in The Guardian about destinations that I know, they're normally poorly researched, full of factual mistakes and sometimes just wrong, wrong, wrong. I used to email the travel editor over there and point it out, but now I just don't bother. He did invite me to start pitching ideas though! LOL! ;)

Darren, well if the media are struggling for travel content, they can take me on as a travel writer.

Personally I think the media are struggling for content but Karen's spot on, don't assume because the Guardian says visit a,b, and c that they are the best spots in that destination.

Happy Hotelier, it's unlikely that one site or blog is going to offer readers all the information useful for all their travels. I just think that travellers looking for tips. ideas and inspiration should look beyond the well known sources such as Guardian travel.
