Should this blog be renamed an “interactive online magazine”?
Written by Karen Bryan
I sometimes wonder if using the word blog puts a lot of potential readers off reading the Europe a la Carte blog. After all blog or weblog has connotations of an personal online diary which isn’t an accurate description of this blog which II think is more of an online magazine with articles or posts about travel in Europe. There is the opportunity for readers to have some interaction by leaving comments.
Blogs are still often perceived as on the online angst of teenage geeks. Sometimes I think that the term is an off putting misnomer to the man or woman in the street who doesn’t live a high proportion of their life in the blogoshpere?

Oh I couldn’t agree more! I am relatively new to the ‘blogging’ world and not very many of the blogs I read would I consider the traditional definition of a blog.
It’s good to hear the opinion of newbies as well as the olld ( in terms of the age of the blogosphere) hands like me.
I continue to be surprised and impressed by the plethora of offerings now available in the ‘new media’ space (which I assume this “blog” would sit under that umbrella).
Kind of funny/sad to think that blog is starting to sound old fashioned!
