The dramatic leaden sky at Spittal beach, Berwick upon Tweed

Written by Karen Bryan

Well it’s turning out to be another rather typical British Summer again this year. This morning we went for walk at our local beach at Berwick upon Tweed and as we walked back towards the car, the sky was looking a very ominous albeit dramatically beautiful shade of steely blue.

As I feared the heavens opened before we are able to reach the car and I could have wrung out my trousers when I arrived home. The joys of the British weather.

However as I read of temperatures of 40 degrees celsius in Spain and Greece, I’d rather be in the UK.

  1. Hi, Karen. The weather in UK is always dramatic especially during summer which I experienced during my study in London. However, I love UK.

  2. Cecil, interesting to hear that you think that the British weather is always dramatic in the Summer. I must say that most beautiful and dramatic skies I’ve seen have often been in the Summer before or after rain.
