Orange cows in Amsterdam trees - no I haven’t been smoking pot
Welcome to my blog, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
No I hadn’t just emerged from a pot smoking session in an Amsterdam cafe and there really were orange cows nestling the trees above the cafe tables.

I wonder if the the cows are part of the celebration of the Dutch team playing the Euro 2008 football tournament as I did see various flags painted on the sides of the cows.

Cow Parades seem to be very popular recently as there were 100 life sized cow sculptures all over Edinburgh, the Scottish capital, in 2006. The aim is to make art accessible and fun to all.
Have you any bovine sightings to report from other cities?

Ah, Amsterdam, one of my favorite cities. This reminds me of the Cows on Parade exhibit that was featured in Chicago a few years back. Being a Chicago native, whenever I see cow sculptures anywhere I’m reminded of home.

Yes, Ben, the Cow Parades do appear to be doing the global rounds.

We had a very similar experience in Amsterdam when we were shooting our Jet Set Life show. Amsterdam is a city of many different “colors”! Great post!

Glad to hear you enjoyed post. Jet Set Life sounds very glamourous. I tried to take some video footage using my Flip in Amsterdam and the videos were pretty bad, I don’t know if I can use any of them.
