Angela’s book is a blend of biography, travel guide and the history and art of Rome and Florence during Michelangelo’s lifetime. You can read my review of A Journey into Michelangelo’s Rome on the Wandalust UK travel blog.

Please come along, the live blog will appear inside this post, you don’t need any special equipment or software to watch and it’s easy to make comments and ask questions.

I received a complimentary copy of the book for review purposes as part of Angela’s virtual book tour.

  1. Hello Karen – great stuff, love the interview and your blog – but I was very sad to see that Angela has found no great woman travel writers to enjoy. What about Annie Hawes’ books on Italy, especially the first one, “Extra Virgin” which tells the tale of her attempts to settle into a small olive farming village? Not only full of amazing insights into local culture and tradition, but utterly hilarious! And her most recent book, this one on North Africa – “A Handful of Honey” – blends great travel tales from friendly Muslim lands with the most penetrating and informative account I have yet come across of the growth of Islamic fundamentalism in the area, and ordinary local people’s attitudes to it…..
    Pass it on!

  2. Annie, it was great fun doing the live blog with Angela, apart from trying to type fast and accurately. Let’s hope that Angela becomes a favourite female writer of many readers.

I have to admit that I hardly read books,I just don’t have the time with my day job, the blogs and now setting up a travel social network.
