It's pretty hard to compare hotel prices with self catering as it depends on the number of people in the party, a villa can be very reasonable if say 6 - 8 people share.  You have to watch out for the prices which are quoted for self catering accommodation in Italy and there's a 40 - 80 euro compulsory charge for final cleaning and as ever you have to ascertain if linen and fuel is included in price.

I've generally stayed at hotels as I often travel alone and even if my husband is with me, wer generally want to stay in one location and often you can only hire for one week Saturday to Saturday.</description>
