As you say Karen, so many castles to choose from. One I love, more for its location than its architectural beauty, is Castle Tioram, on the north of Ardnamurchan. It is set at the end of a causeway at the end of Loch Moidart, and if you catch it in a low swirling autumn mist it is a memorable dream-like sight. It is so remote that chances are you will it to yourself to explore.
