Lubeck, Germany – ideal short break destination

I recommend Lubeck, in northern Germany, as a short break destination. It’s a very attractive Hanseatic city, encirled by a canal and a river. It’s also close to the seaside at Travemunde. There are several attractions for kids such as the puppet museum. The traditional Christmas market and craft fair runs from the end of November.

Lubeck is used as the airport for Hamburg by the low cost airlines Jet2 and Ryanair and you can find cheap return flights from the UK during promotions.
