DIY Majorca Wintersun for £120 per person

I was curious to see just how cheaply I could put together a Wintersun holiday flying from Newcastle at the end of February. Easyjet have flights departing for Majorca on Friday 22 February and returning Friday 29 February 2008 for £72 per person. Holidaynights have a studio self catering apartment at the Alcudia Gardens at £46 per person based on two sharing. I’d a quick look at reviews of the Alcudia Gardens and it sounds pretty middle of the road, nothing very good or bad said about it.
If you want to be mobile you can hire a car from Economycarhire a Ford Fiesta for £60 which includes two drivers and no insurance excess.
When the Easyjet flight booking page came up there were accommodation and car hire options. However there were more expensive, the cheapest accommodation costing £140 and the cheapest car hire £117. The morale of the story if you want to book a budget holiday don’t book anything except your flight on the low cost airline site.
