Budget accommodation with Hostelworld.com

Hostelworld don’t just offer beds in dorms in hostels but also private rooms in hostels, bed and breakfasts and budget hotels. I used Hostelworld to find a room for my recent stay in Aberdeenshire. I booked a room in a flat at the University of Aberdeen student residences through Hostelworld. It cost £22 a night for a good sized single room with a sink. There were 5 bedrooms in the flat with a well equipped communal kitchen and a shared bathroom with a separate additional toilet. It was £15 for a bed in a shared dorm at Aberdeen youth hostel.
I also found a single room in a student flat in Edinburgh during the festival and a single room with shared bathroom at a Bed & Breakfast in the east of the city for for around £20 a night. Really good value for Edinburgh during the peak season, when some B&Bs more than double their prices.
I’d certainly recommend looking at Hostelworld if you’re looking for budget accommodation but don’t necessarily want to sleep in a shared room.
