Art from the workshops held recently at Prestongrage Museum in East Lothian will be on display at the Power House building at the Museum from September 8 – 31 October. You can pick up the key to the Power House at the Visitor Centre which is open daily from 11am- 4pm. The five weekly art workshops were based industrial heritage of the region, with a different theme every week e.g. soap, coal, rope.
I was fortunate to attend all the workshops and although I’ve never been to any sort of art classes, the atmosphere was very relaxed yet supportive, thanks to the tutor, local artist, Jacquelyn Rixon. I really enjoyed the workshops and would say to anybody who is thinking of attending some classes this Autumn and maybe feeling a bit unsure, go along and give it a go.
