The Love Parks Week runs from 16 - 24 July in the UK. The week aims to raise awareness of the importance of parks and green spaces and encourage people to use them more. There are hundreds of events all over Britain and you can search to see what’s on in your area.

I think that the UK should be very proud of its parks and open spaces. I think of many public parks as a Victorian legacy. I certainly spent a lot of time in parks as a child and with our sons when they were young. If you visit the UK you will find beautiful parks in most towns.
What’s your favourite public park in the UK? I have found memories of Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy, Fife in Scotland. I had a season ticket to play tennis on the courts there. There is a boating lake which used to be home to a pair of black swans and a lovely formal garden
