Brits to take more holidays this year

A staggering 29% of Brits claim that they will be taking more holidays this year in a Trip Advisor online poll. 60% of Brits will take the same number of holidays with a measly 14% taking fewer holidays. The most popular holiday activity is sunbathing! So can we deduce that the sun worshipping Brits have little concern over their carbon footprint or frazzled skin! Even higher prices will not deter 88% of Brits from their holidays.

This morning I read that between rising inflation, increasing interest rates and low wage increases, disposable income is dropping. Therefore unless consumers are willing to take on even more debt, how are they going to pay for more holidays? I just wonder if many people are burying their heads in the sand and may be in for a nasty shock if and when they have to face up to their financial situation, their damaged skin and the consequences of global warming. Perhaps going on holiday more often is just another way of escaping from reality. What do you think?
