The May Day Bank Holiday is approaching and here are some ideas if you’re thinking of taking a short break in the UK.

There’s always plenty to do and see in London.  However if you’re looking for somewhere a bit different to stay, the 4 star Sunborn Yatch Hotel is moored on the River Thames in east London. They are offering room only at £70 for Friday 4/5, £90 for Saturday 5/4 and £65 for Sunday 6/4, as long as you stay for a minimum of two nights. This price does not include breakfast.

Chester is a very attractive city with a Roman amphitheatre, Norman Cathedral and rows of charming two tiered shops constructed in the 13th century.

If you fancy a bit of luxury, the five star Chester Grosvenor and Spa has standard double rooms for £189.50 on Friday 4/5, £199.50 on Saturday 5/5 and £179.50 on Sunday 6/5. You’ll be upgraded to the next available room type, but this is not guaranteed.

The four star Queen Hotel is close to Chester railway station,  It is a grand Victorian building which first opened in 1860.  A double room costs £70 on Friday 4/5, £95 on Saturday 5/5 and £69 on Sunday 6/4.

The three star Rossett Hall Hotel is located in the countryside. It’s a Georgian building, four miles outside Chester. A double room costs £60 on Friday 4/5, £64 on Saturday 5/5 and £64 on Sunday 6/4.
