I thought this article about beaches would be useful if you’re thinking of visiting the coast over the Spring and Summer. At the Quality Coast site you can search for your ideal beach by region using criteria such as whether you prefer sand or shingle and which watersport you wish to do.
Which is your favourite beach in England? I am not sure about my favourite. There area some stunning beaches in Devon and Cornwall. I have to say I really like my local beach at Spittal. It’s so accessible, a 5 minute drive away, that we go for a walk there at least once a week. There’s lovely sand, plenty of free parking, great views to to Berwick upon Tweed to the north and to Holy Island to the south. The only downside is that the public toilets are pretty old and shabby.
