The lighter nights make a short break all the more appealing.  Harrogate is a lovely location for a short break in the Spring.  The 3 star West Park boutique hotel has double rooms for £65 per night.

The 3 star White Hart Hotel offers double rooms for £70 on Friday night and £85 on Saturday.

What about a few days by the sea in the Victorian resort of Llandudno in northern Wales?  With the Grand Ash Hotel offering ensuite double rooms for £38 a night, a seaside break that won’t stretch the budget.

Further down the coast the 4 star Hotel Maes y Neuadd in Harlech, has standard rooms for £85 a night, superior rooms are £90.
