Jet2 tops UK customer service poll
Written by Karen Bryan
Jet2 has scored an impressive 9 out of 10 in a recent online poll.
Airlines which operate in UK airports were scored for reliability, customer service and value for money. BMI took second place in the poll with 6.8. Easyjet, 5.4 came just ahead of BAs 5.2. The low cost, pretty reliable but virtually no customer service Ryanair managed a 4.7.
It just goes to show that it seems to be possible to have a low cost airline that does offer good customer service. I had a quick look at their site and priced a ticket from Newcastle to Pisa with Saturday flights at the beginning of October 2007 at just over £60 return
including taxes.
Have you flown with Jet2, how would you rate them?

I flown with them lots when I lived in Holland. They were voted the most punctual airline out of Schiphol which is saying a lot. They do a lot of offers, so it’s worth subscribing to their newsletter if you like popular European destinations.
I found the staff very friendly and adaptable. You can even change your bookings online (though with a pricey “admin” fee and additional ticket prices if they have risen since).
The only downside was the last flights will land far away from the terminal at Newcastle Airport, requiring a bus to get you in which can take time – but I guess the airline is paying less to the airport by parking away from the terminal to keep costs down.
The Newcastle-Amsterdam route is also served by KLM, and you’ll be lucky to pay less than 3 times the amount for Jet2, but KLM uses a narrow body, it feels very cramped and is parked a long way from the central part of Schiphol (even further away than where Jet2′s gate), where you have go be pushed into a cramped downstairs gate which is chockblock full of people on other KLM flights. Oh, and you get delays too!
The other low cost airline I recommend is Wizz Air (I used the Luton to Bourgas flight) – they have a brand new fleet of planes and I was very impressed – but they use easyjet style seat “allocation” which is a downside in my book.
Thanks for that Kyle. It’s certainly encouraged me to fly with Jet2.
[...] Interesting to see that BA languished near the bottom of the pile with an average delay of 19 minutes. The most punctual low cost airline is Jet2 with an average delay of 12 minutes. Jet2 recently came top of a UK customer airline poll. The other low cost carriers cam lower in the results with Ryanair sitting at delays of 15 minutes and Easyjet at 18 minutes. [...]
