We have booked The Malmaison, as I mentioned on Darren's Blog, a Travel Industry rate was more expensive than booking on the Hotel's internet rate ( Don't you just love the Internet!!!!!).
Finding the right Train fare was a nightmare. From Great Malvern on a Sunday the First train to Birmingham goes at 10.10 via Worcester and then Cheltenham to Birmingham, that's a bit like you having to go From Edinburgh via Manchester to get to Glasgow. Rediculous.
So We are going to get a lift to Worcester Shrub hill where a direct train to Birmingham gets us there in time for our connection to Edinburgh.
Found a superb First Class saver ticket from Birmingham by booking One way Journeys at a total cost of £70.00 each. That's a huge saving off the Malvern return fare or the normal First Class fare.

Hopefully we will be visiting Cultural Edinburgh ( Whiskey museum of Course!!!) and a few good restaurants

Lee I think that you will miss all the rail disruption if you are only in Edinburgh until 4 April. Have you booked your accommodation in Edinburgh already? You need to give me an idea of what sort of things you'd like to do in Edinburgh, is it clubs, pubs, culture. Although I am Scottish I don't know Edinburgh that well and haven't done a lot of research because it is such a popular destination that I can't compete with the big boys to come high on searches.

I Hope it won't happen, especially as I am coming up to Edinburgh for a well earned break from 01st to 04th of April.
By the way liked your Blog on rants in Darrens absense.
One of my colleagues has just returned from Cologne and the Mad happenings of the Cologne Carnival. you can see some video and Photographs at our Blog at www.selectworld.travel
Have you any tips for Edinburgh, as haven't been to Scotland before?
