UK is Europe’s biggest wine consumer
Written by Karen Bryan
The UK is set to become Europe’s largest wine sales market with sales of £5.5 billion a year. Spanish and Italian are proving very popular. It is estimated that within a couple of years the average UK adult will drink 3.2 bottles of wine per month.
I’m afraid that I have nothing to contribute on this topic as I am a teetotaller. A very strange species, a Scot that drinks no alcohol! I just never liked the taste when I tried it as a teenager and I’m always handy as the driver on a night out. Has your wine consumption been increasing? Which wine is your personal favourite?
