Dundee: A personal rediscovery

I am writing a Guide to Dundee, Scotland’s fourth largest city. I was born in Dundee but only lived there until I was 4 years old. While doing research for my guide I am amazed how much the city has changed for the better. The city council kickstarted the change when they marketed Dundee as the “City of Discovery”, after the ship Discovery, built in Dundee and used by Scott for his Antartic Expedition returned to the city.
I read a restaurant review which referred to Dundonians declaring that they would never return to the city, citing its lack of taste and culture. However I agree with the reviewer saying that she can imagine living in Dundee. In the last 20 years Dundee has become a more appealing city.
