BA criticised for profit on phone calls

Frustrated passengers who have still not received their luggage after the fog delays and luggage conveyor belt problem at Heathrow before Christmas are incensed that half of the 3p per minute call charge to the BA enquiry centre is going into BAs pocket. When companies have an 0845 local call rate number they can earn a proportion of the call charge.
I find this really annoying as I pay £9 a month to have unlimited calls to geograpical numbers in the UK. However local call rate numbers such as 0845 and national rate numbers such as 0870 are not included in this package. If you look on the Say no to 0870 website you can often find an alterantive geographical number to call. If it’s just going to be a short call you probably wouldn’t bother to search but I find that many calls to call centres take ages.
