Amsterdam Scam
Written by Karen Bryan
Watch out if you are in Amsterdam and approached by plain clothes police officers claiming to be investigating counterfeit banknotes and credit cards. These fraudsters have false ID and ask tourists to hand over their cash and credit cards for verification. On occasions the tourists are also asked for their PIN numbers and searched for drugs. The victims later discover that not all the cash and cards have been returned to them.
